The Trinidad & Tobago Cultural Society of BC offers two types of scholarships annually to celebrate and reward academic, Post-Secondary Scholarships and the Wilson Wong Moon Memorial Music Scholarship
Post-Secondary Scholarships
We provide two categories of Post-Secondary Scholarships with an award value of $500 each.
Cecil Ash Memorial Scholarship:
Open to all graduating students (Grade 12) High School students from within the BC Lower Mainland with Trinidad and Tobagonian family background who also demonstrate our additional criteria.
2019 Application Deadline: June 30
Presentation Ceremony: during Caribbean Days Festival, Saturday July 27
Wilson Wong Moon Memorial Music Scholarship
This scholarship is intended to assist students interested in learning to play the Steel Drum with a qualified Pan Tutor in the BC Lower Mainland.
2019 Application Deadline: June 30
Caribbean Days Festival Volunteer Award:
Open to all graduating (Grade 12) High School students or students currently enrolled in a Post- Secondary program from within the BC Lower Mainland who volunteer at least 8 hours towards our annual Caribbean Days Festival in North Van.
2019 Application Deadline: July 31
How to Apply
Please review and complete the TTCSBC Scholarship Application.
For all Post-Secondary Scholarship applicants we are requesting recent transcripts and a statement of community involvement with supporting documents (see the Application Checklist for details).
CDF Volunteer Award applicants will need to sign up at www.caribbeandays.ca/apply/volunteering and submit a signed Volunteer Hours Award Form.
Post-Secondary Scholarship winners will be awarded the $500 upon submission of:
- Proof of enrolment in a post-secondary institution
- Copies of any tuition fee receipts
