Membership

Membership is open to people of all nationalities, color and creeds. This is similar to what one would expect to find in the makeup of the people of Trinidad & Tobago, and in many of the other islands of the Caribbean.

To apply for new membership, please complete our application form. Membership term extends to October 31st.

Renewals

If you are simply renewing, you may use the application form to indicate any change of address or other information. If there is no change, you may forego the form and simply pay your membership fees.

Membership Payment

  • Electronic transfer through most major banking institution can be sent to treasurer@ttcsbc.org.
  • You can enclose a cheque, made payable to TTCSBC, with your membership application

Membership Application Form

If you’re applying as a new member, please complete the form provided. Here are the types of membership, with annual membership rates :

Regular Member: Single
$30.00

One Regular voting member who is a “National”

Definition: any National* of Trinidad and Tobago who agrees to abide by the rules and regulations of the Society, whether included in the bylaws or not, and who has paid the prescribed membership dues.

A regular member shall be entitled to vote and shall be able to hold office after six months of membership.

* “National” includes any person born in Trinidad and Tobago, his or her spouse and immediate family regardless of place of birth who is resident in British Columbia.

Regular Member: Family
$50.00

Up to two voting adults, plus non-voting children under 18 years of age

Definition: Includes spouses & children under 18 years of age

Regular Members are Nationals* who agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the Society, whether included in the bylaws or not, and who have paid the prescribed membership dues.

Regular members shall be entitled to vote and shall be able to hold office after six months of membership.

Children under 18 years of age may not vote or hold office.

Regular Member: Senior
$20.00

Regular member over 65 years of age

Definition: any National* of Trinidad and Tobago who agrees to abide by the rules and regulations of the Society, whether included in the bylaws or not, and who has paid the prescribed membership dues.

A regular member shall be entitled to vote and shall be able to hold office after six months of membership.

* “National” includes any person born in Trinidad and Tobago, his or her spouse and immediate family regardless of place of birth who is resident in British Columbia.

Student
$15.00

Attending an accredited institute of learning

Type: Similar to Single membership, but open to students 18 years of age or older.

Definition: Any visa student attending an accredited university, college, school or other institute of learning provided he/she has met the requirements set forth under Regular Membership (see below). A student member shall have voting privileges and may hold office.

Regular Member: any National of Trinidad and Tobago who agrees to abide by the rules and regulations of the Society, whether included in the bylaws or not, and who has paid the prescribed membership dues. “National” includes any person born in Trinidad and Tobago, his or her spouse and immediate family regardless of place of birth who is resident in British Columbia.

A regular member shall be entitled to vote and shall be able to hold office after six months of membership. Note: Children under 18 years of age may not vote or hold office.

Associate Member
$25.00

Open to all residents of BC, regardless of nationality.

Definition: any member who agrees to abide by the rules and regulations of the Society, whether included in the bylaws or not, who has paid the prescribed membership dues.

Entitled to one vote, provided that he/she has held membership in the Society for at least six months and has complied with the rules and regulations governing that of membership. Eligible to hold any office other than that of President. No more than three executive offices may be held by Associate members in any one year.

Corporate Member
$100.00

An organization or association membership, providing one vote

Definition: A corporate member shall be any association or organization whether incorporated or not which has compatible objectives, in whole or in part to those of the society. A corporate member shall vote, having one vote per membership, provided that the corporate member has held membership in the society for at least six months and has complied with all the rules and regulations governing that of membership. A corporate member shall not be eligible to hold office.

Non Resident
$10.00

Regular member who is not resident in British Columbia.

Definition: Any prospective member who fulfills all the requirements of a regular member (see below) except the requirement of residency in British Columbia. Such member shall have full voting privileges but is not eligible to hold office.

Not a membership, but a correspondence subscription only.

Definition: Not interested in membership? Join our mailing list and support the Society!

Not eligible to receive Society correspondence which is privileged to members (eg, meeting minutes).
