On the last weekend of July, North Vancouver will again play host city to the Caribbean Days Festival and street parade for its 31st year of celebrations. Building on the festivals longevity and positive reputation of community inclusion, the Trinidad and Tobago Cultural Society of BC (TTCSBC) is proud to produce this family festival which draws over 50,000+ Caribbean culture enthusiasts annually from around the globe.
July 28th & 29th, the 2018 Caribbean Days Festival celebrates our community, eclectic culture and coming together with the theme, “It’s A We ‘Ting!”
Highlights of Caribbean Days Festival weekend include a multicultural street parade, a children’s carnival parade, the Kidz Zone, live music, varied artisan vendors and of course a multitude of culinary offers of incredible Caribbean food!
Over the years TTCSBC has sponsored a number of social and cultural initiatives in British Columbia including scholarships, seniors’ outings, youth development workshops, hospital aid and other charitable initiatives.
TTCSBC and the volunteers who make up the festival planning committee are dedicated to providing cross-cultural understanding, acceptance and integration between people of diverse nationalities and heritage through art, music, respective talents & abilities.
This year’s festival will surely be an event to behold. Come early to enjoy the spectacle of a host of costumed revellers cavorting down the streets of North Vancouver and spend the day with family friends beneath the sun surrounded by wonderful sights, amazing music and fabulous culinary delights.
Admission to the Caribbean Day Festival is free and donations are welcome to this annual multi-cultural celebration as we transform Waterfront Park in North Vancouver into a musical, culinary and multi-cultural wonderland!
